HOW TO PERFORM THE FORWARD LUNGE – by @championptp ? -? ? Want to train with us online or in person? Link in bio!? -? In this video, strength coach @kieferlammi takes us through a tutorial for the forward lunge.? -? The forward lunge is a great progression from a split squat or reverse lunge for single leg training. A couple things we're looking to see are:? ?Front knee around 90 degrees and over the middle of the foot (slightly forward or back is ok as well)? ?Back hip gets to full extension and forms a straight line from knee to head? ?Push yourself back and up as one on the ascent without any excessive or jerking motion from your upper half? -? In addition to being a great single leg training tool, this particular variation adds a great frontal plane control component as you work to avoid any wobble of the knee or hip when you step into the lunge!? -? ? FIX YOUR HIP EXERCISES – Abduction Straight Leg Raises – by @mikereinold? -? ? WANT TO LEARN MORE FROM ME? Head to my website MikeReinold.com, link in bio.? -? If you've followed my posts lately, you've noticed I've been focusing on how to "fix" some of your hip exercises.? .? Often times, people are really sloppy with hip exercises and compensate by moving the trunk and spine. That's always going to take away from the point of the exercise (to strengthen the hip) and reinforce poor movement patterns.? .? The straight leg raise hip abduction exercise is excellent for EMG of the glutes, if you do it right.? .? Engage your core and don't let your body rotate back or your leg rotate out. Try the two variations and let me know what you feel more!? -? ? Was this helpful? Tag a friend below and share!? -? ? Have a question/comment? Drop a comment below!? -? ? Fix your Pec Stretch

View this post on Instagram

ARE YOU MAKING THIS MISTAKE WHEN YOU TRY TO STRETCH YOUR PEC?? – by @championptp. More great content from our team at Champion. Seriously… Follow @championptp right now, there is a TON more coming!? -?? ? Want to train with us online or in person? Link in bio!?? -?? ?In this video, coach @kieferlammi identifies a common flaw we see when people try to stretch their pecs and an easy fix to improve it.?? .?? ?Often, we see people grab onto a wall or a rig and crank their arm behind them in order to try and feel a stretch in their pec. While you might feel a stretch there, the chances are you’re also putting a lot of stress on the structures at the front of your shoulder and while that might feel good in the moment, it could be causing more harm than good. ?? .?? ?A quick fix that we like to implement is using a bent arm so you have a bit of a shorter level, slightly packing the shoulder to keep the head of your humerus from gliding forward, and gently leaning your chest forward to get the desired stretch in the pec. ?? ?? -?? ?
